Hamster Glossary

Desert hamster - common name given to Roborovskii's hamster.
Djungarian hamster - a common name for Campbell's Russian hamster.
Golden hamster - a common name for the Syrian hamster.
Hairy-footed Hamster - a common name given to Campbell's Russian hamster.
Hamster - the word hamster derives from the German word hamstern which means to hoard.
Striped hamster - a common name often applied to both the Chinese hamster or the Winter White hamster
Syrian hamster - common species of hamster originating from Aleppo in northwestern Syria.
Teddy Bear hamster - a common name for the Syrian hamster.
